Calendar Notes

Mock Examinations will be held before and after the Midterm Break.

The cost of the mock examinations is approximately €100 for Leaving Certificate students, €100 – 120 for Junior Certificate students. These figures can change depending on the number of subjects examined and the levels chosen.


Drug Awareness Programme: The Parents’ Association has organised an awareness programme in conjunction with WRDTF.

Cervical Cancer Vaccinations: First & Second year students have received two rounds of the vaccination from the HSE. Round three will be administered in mid April.


Fifth Year Work Experience: February 6th – February 10th. This is a very important part of our fifth year programme & all students must participate.


LCVP Interview Preparation & Interviews: Interview preparation Wednesday January 18th followed by interviews in early February.

This is a great opportunity for students to gain first-hand knowledge of the interview process and skills for future careers.


School Newsletter: The school’s Newsletter will be issued at the end of January/early February.

Sports Star:Congratulations to Sean Moran on receiving the Western People’s Basketball Sports Star Award.

Scholarships Congratulations to Melissa Dolan – Scholarship from UCD, Michael Pielow – J.P. McManus Scholarship, Shane Mulderrig, Scholarship from NUIG.

Technology Award: Congratulations to Colm Walsh who came First in the Galway/Mayo Technology Teachers’ Award and to Jamie Hunt who came Third in this section. Colm Walsh came third in the All-Ireland awards.

Reminder: Students returning to school after appointments etc. must be signed in by a parent/guardian. This is in the interest of Health & Safety.

School Journals: Parents/guardians must check and sign journals on a regular basis. You will learn what work students should be doing and how they are progressing in school.

First Year Development Day: This is a special day for First years on the 9th March. They will have the opportunity to participate in workshops on personal development, drama workshops on bullying and substance use, and a dance workshop.
